What is being real?__

A lot of niggas have gotten it twisted when it comes down to what being real is. It has been conceived that if one is black, being real is being a criminal, being bad or negative.

For example when it comes to rappers, when it is asked who is the realest, names such as Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane,etc. pop up. You barely hear people like Talib Kweli or Lupe Fiasco mentioned. Which leads to my next question: Could someone be real without being bad or portraying a certain image?

Most of the niggas who are supposedly real either claimed and believed to be real gangstas or to have commited some sort of crime.

The fucked up thing is that most of the people in the Black, Latino and even some white communities want to be _"real". This leads to them aspiring and putting all their energy to try and live a certain lifestyle which most likely involves the idea that. "Bad is real_" and "Good is for pussies"

This leads to a lot of smart, but mislead brothers getting arrested for crimes that should not even happen in the first place.
I was watching America’s Most Wanted on TV the other day, and there was four niggas who killed this other innocent nigga who was home form college on vacation, because they were trying to send a message out to his cousin. Then when the four "*Real*_" or "Gangsta niggas_" were trying drive away from the cops, they got in a car crash, and killed an innocent white boy who was coming from work going to his mother’s house for dinner.

Three of the four niggas have been arrested and another one is being looked for.

Now, them four supposedly "Real Niggas are probably going to serve life which means that four brothers who had the potential of being something in their life, probably bringing positive change to the community are gone and locked away.

Never less, a brother who was actually making change and going to college trying to get out of the hood is dead and gone. And so is the innocent white boy who was supposed to rejoice with his family.

Now, I am not saying that the system or the world that we are living in is ran at its best at all, but what I know is that there is opportunity, there is a way out because nothing is impossible.
Niggas are made to believe that the only was out of the hood is playing a sport, doing music or something else that would put you on the spotlight, but how many candidates are there in the hood? Now, how many do actually make it into the entertainment business? Not that many, now; what about the ones who don’t make it and sped the rest of their lives trying to make it when they know that they never will make it, but they do not want to admit it? For example you have some forty years old guys who aspire to be rappers competing whit youngins so they are forced to act like youngins when it is clear that they will never make it. If you go to the hood every nigga is a rapper, a drop out, etc. ( this is a subject for another blog)

The way things are going right now is the government’s plan. Let me explain:

Think about it, one out of every three black men are locked up, which leads to a many cases of children without fathers ( which is prominent in the hood) and a lot of women without husbands. This has led many in the hood to forget the role of a man in the family. Oh wait, many have forgotten the role of a family.

Now, the fucked up thing is that black people have given up, sometimes when you even ask little kids in the hood, they will tell you " I was born here, I am going to claim my hood and rep it till I die." That shit hurts me the most because black people are falling into the plan. Just because you woke up in a trap does not mean you should not try to get out.

My issue with rappers and all big black figures is that they are the role models for our communities because every one wants to be like them. But most of them do not address the issues that are going on, instead, they encourage the negativity.

The real meaning of being real is doing what your heart tells you is right. Being real is appreciating life and not being proud of taking another human being’s life away.
